Henry Emily is a main character in BlueyCapsules. He is the former husband of Emilie Emily and the father of Charlie and Sammy Emily. He is a businessman and engineer, as well as the business partner and best friend of William Afton, and the honorary uncle to William's children. He and William founded Fredbear's Family Diner and Fazbear Entertainment in 1978 and are credited with the creation of the Fazbear franchise, though it was originally Henry's idea. He also later helped establish Fazbear Entertainment, but dropped from the corporation soon after.
He is a very gentle and fatherly individual who loves children, caring deeply for those he holds close to him. After his daughter, Charlie, mysteriously died, which then led to his wife leaving him, Henry has been struggling keeping up his characteristic optimism, but remains a superstar dad and uncle. Smiling through the pain!
Personality
In many ways, Henry is the polar opposite of his friend William. A humble, patient, and fatherly man with a passion for making others smile, Henry is a kind and lovable person whose mere presence lights up a room. He tries his best to keep up an optimistic attitude, even as literally every terrible thing that could ever possibly happen to him stacks on his shoulders. He is great with words and tends to be a mediator in tense situations, and many people often seek his advice. Unlike William, Henry does what he does because there is nothing he loves better than making children happy, and he seizes any opportunity to improve his restaurant for the sake of making it a more welcoming and fun environment. However, Henry -- especially in his younger years -- is malleable and docile, and was easy pickings for someone like William, who was able to manipulate Henry with ease. With Henry practically wrapped around William's finger, he was rather blind to William's destructive tendencies, and as a result was rather mentally damaged by him without even realizing it. After the death of C.C. Afton, who was like a son to Henry, he began to see through the cracks and take note of the person that William really is, and has become more confident in standing up to William and calling him out on his bullshit. Despite being a doting father to his own children, Henry also takes care of William's children as if they were his own, due to William's neglectful tendencies.
History
Henry was born and raised in Hurricane, Utah. A nerdy kid with a passion for technology and engineering, he attended university with hopes to open a business -- specifically an entertainment center -- in his rather bleak hometown. Henry graduated high school a year early, when he was 17. In his sophomore year of college, he met William Afton, a British freshman who was also studying in business and engineering. The two, despite being complete opposites, struck up a friendship almost immediately and began studying together, and began planning a business together. However, unlike Henry, William was notoriously more irresponsible, and managed to get another classmate pregnant mere weeks after starting classes. The resulting child, Michael, was mainly left in the care of William as Sunny attended her rather work-heavy classes, but William didn't really want to raise Michael either, and Henry, who was the honorary uncle and godfather to Michael, happily took up the responsibilities of taking care of him. Despite the great amount of stress that it dealt him, Henry managed to efficiently juggle the parental duties and his studying efficiently. Somehow, Henry did manage to graduate college, and shortly afterwards, William and Sunny had a second child, Elizabeth.
Henry moved back to Hurricane to continue working on the business that he and William had started planning, and the Afton family went with him. William and Henry spent many years planning their establishment. While creating concepts for the restaurant, Henry met a woman named Emilie who he almost immediately fell in love with, and the two married after less than a year of dating. Emilie would later become pregnant with Henry's twins, Charlie and Sammy Emily, who were born in 1976. Overjoyed to finally have children of his own, Henry was an extremely doting and loving father, and their existence gave him even more motivation to open his restaurant. Henry and William's idea later adapted into what would eventually become Fredbear's Family Diner. Henry created the character Fredbear. Eventually the restaurant was opened in early 1978, and became a massive success in the local area.
As time passed, Henry began spending more time with his kids, balancing his work and home lives equally. William wasn't exactly a huge fan of this, but Henry assured him that the business was running smoothly at an all-time high and that there was no need to worry. Around Halloween in 1983, Henry's daughter Charlie went missing, with her blood found in the back alley of Fredbear's. Her body was never recovered, and a funeral was held later for her. Henry was extremely mortified by the loss of his daughter and became a shell of his former self, which prompted his wife to leave him and Sammy just a day after the funeral. William attempted to "comfort" him, which worked somewhat, and Henry was encouraged to spend all of his time working on the restaurant, since beside Sammy, it was all he had left. Henry decided to pour almost all of his time into creating a new set of animatronics in his basement, ones that would eventually become the "original four".
Later, William's youngest son had his 9th birthday party at Fredbear's. After an unfortunate series of events caused by Michael and his friends, CC's head was crushed in Fredbear's jaws. Henry was the one who pried CC out and attempted to resuscitate him, but to no avail. After CC was admitted to the hospital, Henry tried his hardest to comfort Michael and Elizabeth, who were both traumatized after the incident. Following the death of CC, a rift formed between William and Henry because of William's indifference to the incident and his poor treatment of Michael.
Later, Henry would propose the idea of opening a new restaurant in the place of Fredbear's. William wasn't very fond of this idea, but he went along with it anyway, and they started a car wash in hopes to raise funds for the location. Instead, they met Boss Boseman, who Henry almost immediately developed a crush on, and in his lovestruck stupor, sold him the rights to the establishment for three million dollars.
Henry continued to work as a mechanic and engineer for Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria when it opened in 1984. He built a strong friendship with Boss over the months, one that surpassed his relationship with William, which as a result made William particularly irritated. He remained painfully unaware of the cause of the Missing Children Incident as the many disappearances happened, and even blamed himself in particular for the disappearance of Susie Denver after dismissing Elizabeth's concerns for her absence. Following the disappearance of Boss's children, Henry tried his best to be supportive, relating to his friend's pain, and though Boss appreciated his kindness, in the end he decided to leave Hurricane, telling Henry he hoped to keep in contact with him. However, Henry has not heard a word from Boss since.
Shortly before the closure of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, Henry and William were approached by Chauncey Bohner-Focker and The C.E.O., who offered to buy the rights to the establishment with plans to open two restaurants based on William and Henry's respective ideas. Henry allowed them to use his idea, but he ultimately decided to drop off the project, citing the fact that the business was getting too big for his liking and did not accurately capture his and William's original vision, and that he wanted to spend more time with Sammy as he was the only family he had left.
Following further disenchantment with William's increasingly obvious manipulative and cruel behavior, especially in the wake of Elizabeth's death, the final breaking point was when Henry discovered his basement lair, containing remnant research and proof that William was responsible for both the death of Charlie and the Missing Children Incident. Devastated and in shock, Henry gathered William's collective research and fled town with Sammy, escaping to a safe place where he could process the information and decide how to move forward. Though he did not feel safe bringing Michael with him, for fear of William pursuing them, he sent a sizable check to Michael to help him make his own way, along with a brief apology in the memo line.
